Internship, Development Department The Development Department of the Appalachian Mountain Club has an internship available for the spring 2011 semester. This internship is a great opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student to learn about development in a well-known and respected recreation and conservation organization. ResponsibilitiesThe Development Intern will assist with the planning and organizing of the celebration to be held on January 28, 2012 for AMC's retiring President and other donor and member events. The Intern will conduct research on donors and prospects, incorporate electronic notes into biography files, and produce research reports as needed, utilizing DonorScape, the internet, Raiser's Edge, and paper files to gather information and compile research reports. He or she will manage research, actions, proposals, and correspondence files for major donors and prospects through the Raisers Edge. This position will also assist in donor stewardship implementation, including managing invitation and informational mailings and premium fulfillment. Some general office duties, including photocopying, errands, and filing. Employment Qualifications Applicants must have excellent writing and oral communication skills, excellent attention to detail, strong organization skills, and the ability to work independently. Must be able to work with confidential donor information. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet research are essential. Office experience is preferred. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge is a plus.
