Internship, Outdoor Leadership, Youth Opportunities Program The AMC's Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) provides training and support for youth workers in the Northeast region to independently lead youth groups on outdoor adventures such as camping, backpacking, hiking, canoeing, snow-shoeing, and cross country skiing. YOP makes the outdoors accessible to urban and at-risk youth through provision of training, trip planning assistance, reduced rates at AMC destinations, and use of equipment. Each year YOP supports 200 youth agencies, trains 220 youth workers, and serves 10,000 youth. Outdoor Leadership Interns are responsible for supporting YOP's many youth worker trainings as well as our outdoor adventures for youth. YOP interns are exposed to six core program areas and specialize in two areas for the internship. Responsibilities
Based out of our Boston, MA, headquarters, this position comes with a generous stipend, opportunities to attend free trainings including the Outdoor Leadership Training, and additional benefits. Internships should last a minimum of two months and up to one year and may be full- or part-time. Programming takes place year-round.
