“AMC adds a Maine ingredient” was the headline on this article about the opening of Little Lyford Pond Camps under the AMC’s ownership. The club purchased the historic sporting camps in the heart of Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness and is offering cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, paddling, rustic accommodations, and hearty meals for AMC members and nonmembers alike.
Highland Center makes front page of "Travel Section"

Written by Jody Feinberg, the article gave the Highland Center an extremely positive review on the front page of the "Travel Section". The article highlighted the activities at the lodge, L.L. Bean’s donation to the Highland Center to equip the facility, accommodations, and much more. Several pictures by Lou Goodman accompanied the article.

The column highlighted the AMC’s long history in providing lodging options in the Northeast while presenting some of the exciting elements of the Highland Center at Crawford Notch. The column also discussed the daily offerings available at the Highland Center and the A Mountain Classroom Program.

The AMC’s new walking guide, WalkBoston: Walking Tours of Boston’s Unique Neighborhoods has received mention in several Boston-area publications. The Swampscott Reporter featured a lengthy review that included an interview with Bob Sloane, the book’s editor, as did the Chelsea Record. The Improper Bostonian also plugged the new guide for those who “enjoy a brisk walk every now and then,” even in the winter. Boston Magazine’s Concierge included the book in an article highlighting the best places to get outdoors in Boston.
