This spring, the Appalachian Mountain Club is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the AMC White Mountain Guide with the publication of the 28th edition. The AMC White Mountain Guide is the oldest continuously published trail guide in North America, and has long been considered the “bible” for hikers in the White Mountain National Forest of New Hampshire. The Guide is the most comprehensive trail guide to the White Mountains, with over 500 trail descriptions and detailed pull-out, full-color trail maps. Over one half-million copies have been sold since the first edition was published in 1907.

The centennial edition, which is completely revised and updated, also includes tips on safety and trip planning, the latest trail data, and detailed information on Mt. Washington.

Special Features
6 updated, pull-out, full-color maps created using GIS technology and now featuring improved scale and trail segment mileage; detailed trip descriptions, including distances, times, and elevations; tips for trip planning, safety, map and compass use; helpful guidelines for backcountry hikers; a list of 4000-foot peaks; extensive information on Mt.
