Alpine Plant Communities

Particular associations of species or plant communities tend to be found in similar habitat throughout the alpine zone, depending on the local and broader environmental conditions. Topographic factors, such as elevation, aspect, slope, and slope shape can dramatically alter the microclimate (and biota) over short distances.
