From the links below, you can find out which of the monitored alpine plants have been reported in bloom (up to 1 week delay) or when they have flowered in past years at alpine mountains throughout the region. You can even find out what’s in flower at different elevations for some of the larger alpine areas in the Northeast.
Hundreds of citizen-scientist volunteers have helped collect this data, which will help us to better understand these plants and create a baseline of data to detect potential impacts of climate change. You can add to this database on your next hike by becoming an plant monitor.
