Visibility Volunteer Photo Gallery

AMC Visibility Voluteers have been contributing photographs from their hikes since 2003 (list of volunteers). These photos document the visibility from trails across the Eastern U.S. and help us see how particle pollution can obscure views. Photos are labeled with location photograph was taken and date. Fine particle level (in microgram per meter cubed) was obtained by AMC from the nearest state/EPA air quality monitoring site and relative humidity was obtained by nearest National Weather Service station.

Photo taken when raining or relative humidity was greater than 95% are not included.
