How to identify — Plants are 3 to 4 inches tall and have a clover-like leaf has 3 heart-shaped leaflets.  The plant usually forms creeping mats.  The flowers are dime-sized and have 5 white petals with pink stripes and yellow anthers.  Individual flowers rise above leaves on separate stems.

Habitat/Distribution — Common in moist, dark woods at middle to higher elevations.
