For the first time, the annual trail sign auction will be held on eBay. Participation is free but will require creation of an eBay account if you do not already have one.
Signs will be available for bidding beginning Monday, November 26, 2007 and continuing until Wednesday, December 5, 2007.
We suggest that you review eBay's user agreement and also read the following auction rules before you register and post a bid.
The auction rules are as follows:
- Starting Bids: Bids open at $100.
- Successful bids: As a bidder, if you have the highest bid at the end of the auction, at or above the minimum bid price, you are obligated to complete the transaction.
- Acceptable currency: All bidding and transactions will be conducted in U.S. dollars.
- Notification of winners: You will be notified via eBay on December 5, 2007 if you are the winning bidder.
- Conditions of sale: Item descriptions are provided as a reference only and the AMC is not responsible for inaccuracies. Image quality may vary across different browsers. All sales are final. A 5 percent sales tax will be added to the winning bid for all signs shipped to or sold to residents of Massachusetts.
- Shipping: A shipping charge of $15 will be added to your winning bid price per the eBay listing. Payment must be received prior to delivery of sign.
- Deadline for pickup: In the event that the winning bidder opts to collect the sign in person, all trail signs must be picked up by December 20, 2007, unless other arrangements are made with the Trails Department.
- Technical difficulties: AMC is not responsible for bids not being processed or not being accepted due to technical difficulties.
- Auction modifications: We reserve the right to remove from auction, or re-offer for auction, items which are disputed, withdrawn by the AMC, or fail to draw bids at or above the posted minimum.
- Modifications: The AMC reserves the right to modify this Bidder Agreement at any time and without prior notice to its users.
- General compliance with laws: You shall comply with all applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, and regulations regarding your use of eBay and your bidding on, listing, purchase and sale of AMC items.
