AMC staff and over 4,000 volunteers are engaged in on-the-ground recreation management and trail maintenance on over 1,800 miles of trails, including more than 300 miles of the Appalachian Trail, and 120 miles of the New England Trail. Much of this work is supported by our Annual Trail Fund. AMC is also working with partners on several other regional trail initiatives, including the Bay Circuit Trail and Greenway, and the Pennsylvania Highlands Trail Network.
