Saco LT BridgeThroughout its history the AMC has maintained a strong tradition of working in partnership with other conservation organizations, agencies and groups for open space protection and sustainable management of natural resources.

With the maintenance responsibility for over 1,500 miles of trail from Maine to Pennsylvania, AMC is a recognized leader recreation management. AMC recruits, trains, and deploys thousands of volunteers to care for trails, and since 1919, has been supported by a professional trail crew that maintains and constructs trails throughout the northeast.

AMC is also a recognized leader as a provider of high quality mapping and GIS analysis. In the last decade, AMC has provided leadership in research and technical mapping for conservation efforts in the Northern Forest and mid-Atlantic regions. For more than 15 years our staff Cartographer has compiled data and composed recreational maps for some of the most highly used recreation areas in the northeast.

The AMC is the nation’s oldest and most experienced conservation and recreation organization. With a long history of successful initiatives, the experienced AMC staff can provide the following professional services to all land managers and land owners:
