On Saturday, May 16th, the Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC), the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference and the Borough of Riegelsville hosted a “Welcome to Pennsylvania” event celebrating the near completion of the 150-mile Highlands Trail in New Jersey and New York, and welcoming the trail into Pennsylvania. The event, attended by over 100 people, was a huge success and was a great way to kick off AMC’s work to extend the Highlands Trail into Pennsylvania. Many AMC volunteers and leaders from all over AMC’s region came out to help and support this event. We also received great support from local retailers, citizens, local governments, state agencies and state representatives.
