Goose Eye Trail in Maine before and after the AMC Trail Crew.

The AMC's annual Trails Campaign provides the funding necessary to support our professional and volunteer trail crews throughout the region. This year, 56 crews are working on trails from the Delaware Water Gap to northern Maine, clearing brush and water bars, building rock steps, rebuilding bridges, and replacing worn and missing trail signs, to name a few projects.

Despite our efforts to stretch every dollar, it is increasingly difficult to provide the tools, equipment, and support required for the stewardship of our trails. Your tax-deductible contributions help make some of the following purchases that are critical to maintaining your trails.

  • $30 — gallon of paint for trail blazes
  • $40 — single bit ax
  • $50 — camp stove
  • $85 — field-grade First-aid kit
  • $100 — emergency phone for a Ridgerunner
  • $160 — cook stove for a Ridgerunner base camp
  • $300 — field tent for volunteer crew
  • $500 — professional-quality, low-emission, heavy-duty chain saw
  • $525 — annual replacement of trail signs (wood signs, router bits, hardware)
  • $1,100 — one-hour helicopter flight to fly materials to shelters and for trail work
  • $1,500 — old bog bridge replacement
  • $2,000 — supports a volunteer trail crew for one week (food, supplies)
  • $2,500 — jackhammer for special rock projects

Please give as generously as you can, and thank you for your support of AMC's Trails Program!
