Workshop registration information posted

Registration
For many workshops, you may register either online or over the phone, depending on the workshop's location. If a location offers online registration, you may still call us to reserve a spot if you prefer. When you register online, there is currently a minor delay in processing your registration, which may result in the class being filled before your registration is entered. If a workshop's date is less than 30 days away, you should call to register regardless of whether online registration is available:

  • 603-466-2727 for workshops in the White Mountains, Cardigan, Highland Center or Maine.
  • 908-362-5670 for workshops in the Delaware Water Gap.

Many of our workshops now have in-depth detail available online in a separate document (PDF format). Within these documents, you will find an itinerary for the workshop, relevant equipment lists, and directions among other important information. After your registration has been processed, you will receive the following information. This information packet will serve as confirmation of your initial enrollment and includes:

  • Registration form.
  • Confidential medical form.
  • Participant agreement, release, and acknowledgement of risk.

You must return the registration, medical, and release forms at least a week before the workshop in order to complete your enrollment. This information is vital to our preparations to make your workshop experience as safe, educational, and enjoyable as possible. Please bring the original copies of the forms with you to the workshop.

Also, full payment is required at the time of registration.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation received:

  • more than 30 days in advance, full refund.
  • 14 to 30 days in advance, 70 percent refund. (Workshops in the Delaware Water Gap, 50 percent refund.)
  • less than 14 days before the program, no refund.

If the AMC must cancel a workshop, registrants will be notified and all course fees and deposits will be refunded. Dates and fees are subject to change.

Age Requirement
In order to provide workshop participants with high-quality and enjoyable experiences, AMC Outdoor Adventures have a minimum age policy noted in each workshop description. These ages are set according to workshop content, instructional type, and the level of supervision provided. While a workshop may be appropriate for someone under 18, the AMC may require an adult to accompany minors in order to provide supervision during non-classroom times. Adults providing non-workshop time supervision may not be required to participate in the workshop but should expect to pay for food and lodging.

Family workshop descriptions include recommended age ranges for children attending. The curriculum for these courses has been planned for the given age range, and those outside of that range may feel that their needs are not being met. Workshop fees are discounted for children enrolled in family programs, and an adult must accompany children in these programs.
