Wildflower Welcome Weekend
June 17-19

Spend a weekend exploring the emerging spring wildflowers! Participants will learn how to identify the common species of flowering plants, survival strategies of alpine wildflowers, and how the AMC is working to protect these species. The program will include guided hikes and nature walks through the flowering areas. Participants might even have the opportunity to hike above treeline to see the wildflowers of the alpine zone. Guided Lodge-to-Hut Adventure: Alpine Wildflowers

Welcome to spring in the alpine zone! Travel between huts with an expert AMC naturalist as your guide. Spend your first night at one of our lodges and then enjoy three days and two nights on the trail hiking from hut to hut. Alpine Wildflowers: A Mountain in Bloom

Explore the world above treeline. With an expert AMC naturalist as your guide, we'll drive up Mount Washington Auto Road on Sunday for a hike through the famous Alpine Garden on the mountain's eastern slope. We'll examine exquisite alpine flowers in bloom, discuss alpine adaptations, and compare alpine plant communities during our moderate to difficult 3-mile hike.
