AMC owns and manages 66,000 acres of conservation and recreation land near Moosehead, offering a variety of fishing opportunities. Sportsmen may access the property year-round, including those portions of the spring and fall seasons when AMC’s three wilderness lodges are closed. 

The property contains the headwaters of the West Branch of the Pleasant River, which support a strong population of wild brook trout, an increasing rarity in the East. Anglers should consult the state’s open water fishing laws and rules for regulations regarding the use of certain fishing gear on certain bodies of water.
