Migrating Bird Watch

May 12-14; June 23-25, 2008
Medawisla Wilderness Camps

Join expert area birder Bob Duchesne for two days of bird watching in the spectacular Maine Woods. The first evening program will cover bird songs and calls that participants can expect to hear the next day. In the morning, the group will do an early morning bird walk in the area around the camp and then return for breakfast. The group will then pack a lunch and take a van with Bob Duchesne and drive to areas of special habitat to locate early spring birds. There will be a special watch for Boreal Birds such as Boreal Chickadee, Spruce Grouse, Gray Jays, and Red Breasted Nuthatches. Later, you'll return to the camp and have time to paddle the lake or hike the local trails before dinner. Enjoy a hearty dinner, followed by an evening program of a picture slide show "Birds of the North Woods" and a discussion of the day's events.  The next morning will be another morning bird walk before breakfast.
