Join professional backcountry ski guide Roger Zimmerman for a weekend of backcountry skiing instruction with a focus on outdoor safety and navigation. You’ll learn basic Nordic ski techniques both on the flat group and up and down grades, and how to stop and turn in all kinds of conditions. You’ll also learn how to pack for your winter adventure, how to navigate, select routes, and emergency first aid. Zimmerman will also teach you how to build snow shelters, fires, and how to repair broken ski equipment while on the trail.
