Rock Climbing for Beginners

Mohican Outdoor Center
Apr. 18-20; Jul. 4-6

This two-day workshop introduces you to basic rock climbing and “top-roping” techniques. The goal of this course is to offer the first time climber (or experienced climbers who would like to learn more about the technical side of climbing systems and climbing techniques) the information and skills that allow you to become comfortable on the rock.

By focusing on the skills needed to become a self-sufficient rock climber, our aim is to bring you closer to a level of understanding of climbing that enables you to continue to climb on your own. Instruction covers climbing techniques, belaying skills, anchors, rappelling, climbing equipment (including equipment inspections and limitations), and classic top rope setups.

Minimum age 18 (16 if accompanied by an adult).
