AMC Destinations provide great getaways for hiking clubs, biking clubs, ski clubs, paddling clubs, and other outdoor organizations. Some of New England’s best recreation opportunities – including trail heads to the area’s major peaks, proximity to the region’s best alpine and Nordic ski areas, hundreds of miles of bike routes for both road riders and mountain bikers, and direct access to major lakes and waterways – are right at the back doors of many of our Destinations (including the spectacular Tuckerman Ravine, a moderate hike up from Joe Dodge Lodge). AMC provides education programs and outdoor adventures for more than 25,000 school-age children each year through our Destinations, “A Mountain Classroom,” and our Youth Opportunities Program. In 2006, AMC Destinations hosted literally hundreds of children from 16 different summer camps in the New England area. Adding an AMC trip to your camp itinerary is sure to provide a fun, memorable, and safe experience for all! We work extensively with program directors and managers to provide quality outdoor adventures for campers of all ages. Programs include guided hikes and backpacking trips, paddling, skills programs such as orienteering, and much more.
