Groups at AMC High Mountain HutsSteeped in more than 100 years of tradition, the AMC’s network of high mountain huts provides a unique backcountry adventure for novice and experienced hikers alike. Each a day’s hike apart on the Appalachian Trail, the huts offer mountain hospitality in spectacular locations above tree line or near mountain lakes or waterfalls.
When you stay at an AMC hut, you’ll experience the rewards of a backcountry trek without the worry of carrying all of your food or gear on your back. A great destination for families or groups, our huts offer a range of “big mountain” adventures and activities for kids and adults of all ages.
Location Lodging- Comfortable shared bunk rooms, capacities and set-up varies from hut to hut
- Capacities range from 36 to 90 persons
- Zealand Falls, Carter Notch, and Lonesome Lake huts open year-round (others open from June to October)
Dining - Full service, with breakfast and dinner served from June to October, depending on location
- Self-service season for year-round huts runs from October to June
Extras- Sales Department staff will assist in choosing the hut or huts that are right for your ability level
