Alpine Wildflowers Weekend
June 13-15
Join us at AMC Highland Center this June as we explore the fragile world of alpine plants and flowers during their late-spring bloom. These unique flora grow in just a handful of places in the world--and your chance to see them in full bloom comes only once a year.
We've planned a weekend packed with activities to help you appreciate this spring display. On Friday night, AMC staff botanist Doug Weihrauch will give a talk on Alpine Wildflowers before the next day's Alpine tour. The next day, we will drive an AMC van from the Highland Center to the Huntington Ravine Trail and Alpine garden trail via the Mount Washington Auto Road to begin the hike. Doug Weihrauch will lead the hike and will point out some of the unique alpine flowers in the area. After the flower tour at the summit of Mt. Washington you'll enjoy a trail lunch and there will be time to snap photos and explore the summit before returning to the Highland Center.
