Little Lyford Pond is located in Maine, 15 miles east of Greenville, and 20 miles northwest of Brownville. Below, you can find seasonal directions to the Camps.
Access to Little Lyford Pond Camps and Moose Point Cabin from Greenville and Brownville is via logging roads. A high clearance vehicle is recommended. Call the reservations number below with any questions regarding road conditions.

Driving Directions to Greenville, ME
From points south, not including Bangor or Portland, Maine, drive North on I-95.
Travel North on I-95 to Exit 157 (old 39), the Newport exit. Take a left on Route 7 to Dexter. In Dexter, take a left on Route 23 North to Guilford. Keep a sharp eye out and check your map. These roads should be marked, but it can be confusing! At the end of Route 23 take a left on Route 15 North to Greenville. When you get to Greenville, there will be a blinking yellow light in the middle of town. Northwoods Outfitters is on the right.
From Bangor, take Route 15 North to Guilford. Turn right onto Route 15/Route 16/Elm Street. Continue to follow Route 15 to Greenville.
From Portland, take Route 295 North to I-95 and follow the above directions.

To Little Lyford Pond Via Greenville in spring, summer, or fall
(17 miles from Greenville, approx. 45-minute drive over gravel logging roads):
At the center of Greenville, turn right on Pleasant Street (first street on the right past blinking light and across from the Katahdin steamboat) toward the airport. Follow the LLPC signs and the blue triangles with reflective arrows. North Maine Woods gate (*fee charged) is approximately 12 miles from Greenville. Continue approximately 5 miles to LLPC driveway on the right.
Via Brownville spring, summer, or fall
(19 miles, one hour drive over gravel logging roads):
Take I-95 north to Exit 199 (old 53) at Old Town. Continue north on Route 16 to Milo. Take Route 11 north from Brownville Junction approximately 5 miles. Turn left at Katahdin Ironworks sign. Proceed for 7 miles to North Maine Woods gate (*fee charged). Follow the LLPC signs and the blue triangles with reflective arrows for 12 miles to the LLPC driveway on the right.
*Please note that from early May through mid October, there is a gate fee for the use of the KI Jo-Mary Multiple Use Forest. Visitors to AMC’s Little Lyford Pond Camps are eligible for a reduced gate fee of $10 per adult (up to age 70) per visit. However, this must be purchased with your reservation and a printed confirmation must be presented to the gate attendant. Otherwise the regular gate fees will apply. Please also note that the gates close at 9:00 p.m., and that for logging road safety, motorcycles, ATVs, and horses are not permitted in the KI Jo-Mary Forest. Starting in summer 2005, mountain bikes are allowed on roads on AMC property north of the Gulf Hagas parking lot. Maps of approved routes will be available at the KIJM gates.
Winter Directions
Parking for the 6½-mile ski (subject to change) into Little Lyford is available approximately 10 miles from Greenville. A four-wheel-drive vehicle is required to reach the parking lot safely. Snowmobile pickup of your gear or for personal transportation is available at extra cost with advance notice. Reserve with the AMC reservations office.
Whether you are parking at the winter lot or require transportation from Greenville, Lyford Pond staff will meet you at 10 a.m. or 12 noon at Northwoods Outfitters in center of Greenville (past blinking light, green building on right hand side of road - parking across the street at Katahdin Boat) to arrange transport or to accompany you. Later pickups are not available since sufficient time is required to get to Little Lyford before dark. Personal snowmobiles cannot be accommodated at Little Lyford Pond Camps.
