Little Lyford Pond Camps

Accommodations
  • Nine rustic cabins that sleep one to six people and have porches, woodstoves, and gas and kerosene lamps.
  • Bunkhouse with 8 beds — perfect for larger groups and families.
  • Main lodge with dining room, games, reading area, wood stove, fireplace, and wrap-around deck
  • Family-style dinner and breakfast, and trail lunch included in base rate.
  • Hot showers available year-round. Cedar sauna available in winter.
  • Check in time: 2:00 p.m. Check out time: 10:30 a.m.
    Meal hours:
    • Family-style breakfast (8:00 a.m. daily)
    • Family-style dinner (6:00 p.m. nightly)
  • Canoes are available for free use by guests at nearby Little Lyford Ponds, a short walk from the lodge, and at other remote ponds. Inquire with the staff for more information.
  • Friendly staff available to assist with weather, trails information.
  • Moose Point Cabin is a remote, self-service cabin located nine miles from Little Lyford Pond Camps on Long Lake
    • Sleeps 6 in a double bed, futon, and two bunk beds
    • Free use of 16' canoe and 2-seat kayak for guests
    • Winter transportation to the cabin available with advance notice (extra charge) 
    • Kitchen with stove, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, dishwashing pail, and detergent
    • Wood stove with fuel, kindling, and matches in winter
    • Charcoal grill (bring charcoal and fluid)
    • No showers or running water
  • Fly-fishing guide and instruction in the summer available with advance notice (contact AMC Reservations at 603-466-2727). Fishing licenses and rental gear are available.
  • Dog sledding in the winter is available by special arrangement. Contact Lone Wolf Guiding Service, at 207-997-3545. or Mahoosuc Guide Service at 207-824-2073 to make arrangements.
  • Little Lyford Pond Camps is accessible by car in summer. In winter, guests at Lyford and Moose Point Cabin must drive or shuttle to the winter parking area, then ski 6+ miles to the Camps. Snowmobile transport for gear or guests is available with advance notice (extra charge)
    • In winter, whether you are parking at the winter lot or require transportation from Greenville, Little Lyford Pond Camps staff will meet you at 10 a.m. or 12 noon at Northwoods Outfitters in Greenville to arrange transport or to accompany you. Later pickups are not available since sufficient time is required to get to Little Lyford or Moose Point Cabin before dark. Northwoods Outfitters is a green building on right hand side of road located just past the blinking light. Park across the street at Katahdin Boat. Personal snowmobiles cannot be accommodated at Little Lyford Pond Camps.

What to Bring
  • Guests staying in main lodge
    • Sleeping bag (Recommended in winter), sheet or sleepsack. Mattress, blanket, and pillow provided.
    • Toiletries and towels.  Hot showers are available year-round.
    • Snack items – some items available with trail lunch
    •  Headlamp or flashlight for evening programs or for reading after hours
    • In winter, all clothing, equipment, and trail lunches needed for skiing into camp. Equipment rental available at: Northwoods Outfitters, Greenville, ME, 207-695-3288
    • During summer and fall seasons: a printed copy of your confirmation letter and gate fee payment for access to the KIJM forest.
  • Guests staying at Moose Point Cabin
    • Sleeping bag, sheets, or sleepsack. Mattress, blanket, and pillow provided.
    • Toiletries and towels.
    • Headlamp or flashlight for evening reading and trips to the outhouse.
    • Food for your stay in a large cooler with ice (the nearest grocery store is approximately a 1-hour drive away)
    • During summer/fall seasons: a printed copy of your confirmation letter and gate fee payment for access to the KIJM forest.

Little Lyford Pond is a public facility with food service operations. Pets are not allowed inside or outside any AMC facility. Also, smoking or open flames are not allowed in or near any structure. Alcoholic beverages are permitted, and must be consumed in a responsible manner. Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m.
