Accommodations
  • Seven private cabins with capacities ranging from 2 to 9—perfect for families or groups—and wood stove; most have screened-in porches. Each cabin features:
    • a private bathroom with shower and hot water (for use in spring, summer, and fall).
    • a kitchen with a refrigerator and gas range so you can cook your own meals in spring, summer, and fall (or choose our full-service option and let us do the cooking for you).
  • Main lodge with dining room, games, wood stove, and wrap-around deck
  • Family-style dinner and breakfast, plus trail lunch included in full-service rate (available year-round)
  • Bathhouse for hot showers available during winter
  • Electricity until 9:30 p.m.
  • Check in time: 2:00 p.m. Check out time: 10:30 a.m.
  • Meal hours:
    • Family-style breakfast (8:00 a.m. daily)
    • Family-style dinner (6:00 p.m. nightly)
  • Canoes are available for free use by guests. Inquire with the staff for more information.
  • Friendly staff available to assist with weather, trails information.
  • Fly-fishing guide and instruction in the summer available with advance notice (contact AMC Reservations at 603-466-2727). Fishing licenses are available.
  • Dog sledding in the winter is available by special arrangement. Contact Ashley Simpson, Lone Wolf Guiding Service, at 207-997-3545 to make arrangements.
  • Medawisla Wilderness Camps is accessible by car year-round (4WD recommended during winter).

Meetings & Groups

What to Bring
  • Sleeping bag (recommended in winter), sheet or sleepsack (blanket, and pillow provided).
  • Toiletries and towels. Hot showers are available year-round.
  • Snack items – some items available with trail lunch
  • Headlamp or flashlight for evening programs or for reading after hours
  • In winter, all clothing and equipment needed for skiing into camp. Equipment rental available at: Northwoods Outfitters, Greenville, ME, 207-695-3288

Medawisla Wilderness Camps is a public facility with food service operations. Pets are not allowed inside or outside any AMC facility. Exceptions may be made for hunting dogs (inquire with staff in advance of arrival). Also, smoking or open flames are not allowed in or near any structure. Alcoholic beverages are permitted, and must be consumed in a responsible manner. Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m.
