Public Transportation
AMC’s Hiker Shuttle offers transportation from Pinkham Notch Visitor Center to all major approach routes to the huts in summer and fall. The Hiker Shuttle also picks up and drops off at the Irving gas station on Main Street in Gorham. Reservations are required – call 603-466-2727.
Concord Coach Lines offers daily bus service between Boston Logan Airport and Boston’s South Station (Amtrak and MBTA Commuter Rail) and AMC’s Pinkham Notch Visitor Center.
Shuttle Connection offers airport service to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center from Boston Logan and Manchester Airports. Reservations are required, with a minimum 48 hour advance notice.
Driving Directions
AMC encourages carpooling to its lodges and huts. You can post a rideshare request on our rideshare bulletin board.
From central and south-central New Hampshire (Manchester, Concord, etc.):
1) Take Interstate 93 North to Route 104 East (Exit 23).
2) Take Route 104 East to Route 3 North (near Meredith).
3) Take Route 3 North to Route 25 East (intersection in Meredith).
4) Take Route 25 East to Route 16 North (near West Ossipee).
5) Take Route 16 North to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center/Joe Dodge Lodge, which is located on the left side of Route 16 approximately 12 miles north of the Glen intersection.
From eastern and southeastern New Hampshire (Portsmouth, etc.):
1) Take Spaulding Turnpike North to Route 16 North.
2) Take Route 16 North to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center/Joe Dodge Lodge, which is located on the left side of Route 16 approximately 12 miles north of the Glen intersection.
From Boston and its northern suburbs:
1) Take Interstate 93 North to central New Hampshire.
2) Follow directions above for central New Hampshire.
OR
1) Take Interstate 95 North to Spaulding Turnpike North (at Portsmouth, N.H.).
2) Take Spaulding Turnpike North to Route 16 North.
3) Take Route 16 North to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center/Joe Dodge Lodge, which is located on the left side of Route 16 approximately 12 miles north of the Glen intersection.
From western and southern suburbs of Boston:
1) Take Route 128 North to Route 3 North (near Woburn).
2) Take Route 3 North to Everett Turnpike North (by Nashua, N.H.).
3) Take Everett Turnpike North to Interstate 93 North (by Manchester).
4) Follow directions above for central New Hampshire.
From Portland, Maine:
1) Take Route 302 West to Route 16 North (at North Conway, N.H.).
2) Take Route 16 North to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center/Joe Dodge Lodge, which is located on the left side of Route 16 approximately 12 miles north of the Glen intersection.
From Montreal:
1) Take Autoroute 10 East to Autoroute 55 South (north of Magog).
2) Take Autoroute 55 South to Interstate 91 South (at US/Canada line).
3) Take Interstate 91 South to Route 105 East (by Derby, Vt.).
4) Take Route 105 East to Route 3 South (in North Stratford, N.H.).
5) Take Route 3 South to Route 2 East (in Lancaster).
6) Take Route 2 East to Route 16 South (in Gorham).
7) Take Route 16 South to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center/Joe Dodge Lodge, which is located on the right side of Route 16 approximately 12 miles south of Gorham.
From New York City (and Hartford, CT, or western Massachusetts)
1) Take Interstate 95 North (Connecticut Turnpike) to Interstate 91 North (by New Haven, Conn.).
2) Take Interstate 91 North to Route 302 East (Exit 17 in Vermont).
3) Take Route 302 East to Route 16 North (in Glen, N.H.).
4) Take Route 16 North to Pinkham Notch Visitor Center/Joe Dodge Lodge, which is located on the left side of Route 16 approximately 12 miles north of the Glen intersection.
