Local Fly Fishing Outfitters and Guides
AMC has a limited number of flyrods to borrow and a small selection of flies for sale for guests at Maine Wilderness Lodges who want to try flyfishing. However, an outfitter can provide a full range of supplies along with state fishing licenses. AMC partners with several local Registered Maine Guides, who can offer lessons to beginners or guide seasoned anglers to some of the best fishing spots near each lodge. Rates can run from $225 to $300 for a half-day, small group session to $375 to $450 for a full day, depending on the guide and specific services required. Other guided options nearby include drift boat fishing on the East Branch of the Kennebec and West Branch of the Penobscot, and wade fishing on the Roach River, are some of the possibilities. Contact one of the following outfitters or Maine Guide services directly, and mention you are staying with AMC at Little Lyford Lodge and Cabins or Gorman Chairback Lodge and Cabins. Guides are very busy during peak fishing season, so book as early as possible. Most guides also offer additional options such as wildlife photography trips and moose safaris.
