1 pm and 6 pm: Traditional Pinkham Notch Thanksgiving Dinner

  • A traditional Thanksgiving meal featuring local ingredients.

8:00 pm: From Stump to Ship; A 1930 Logging Film

  • Join us for the showing of a film depicting the long log drive– a spring journey down icy streams and rivers moving logs from the forest to the mill for sawing into boards, laths, clapboards.

Friday, November 27

10am -12 pm: Yankee Chef: Traditional New England Cooking
  • Learn from accomplished chef Rebecca "Becky" Boothman as she shares her recipes and demonstrates a few of her favorite traditional New England foods.

1 pm –2 pm: Traditional Medicine Making

  • Join Interpreter Carol Felice for presentation on making traditional medicines.

6 pm- 8:30 pm: Buffet Dinner

8:30 Woodsman and River Drivers “Another day, another era.”

  • A vivid historical chronicle of a vanished American industry– a tale of woodsmen and river drivers active before 1930– in the Machias River Valley of down east Maine. 

Saturday, November 28

Great Glen Trails Craft Fair  Saturday 9am – 3pm

  • Visit our ski and adventure partner in Pinkham Notch, Great Glen Trails for their annual craft fair.  Over 30 crafters will be selling their handmade crafts. Perfect holiday shopping for that unique gift!

10 am– 12 pm :  Mush! Traveling by Sled Dog
  • Polly Mahoney from the Mahoosuc Guide Service will introduce her dogs, demonstrate hooking dogs up to a sled and some basics about dog sledding.  If we are lucky enough to have snow the dogs will pull Polly around our back field. 

1pm-2 pm: The Yankee Lumberjack

  • The program will include a hands on display of authentic logging tools of the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s, and a slide program.

3pm-4:30 pm: Great Cheeses of New England

  • Enjoy award-winning artisanal cheeses courtesy of some of New England's finest dairies with expert Jack Ford. 

6 pm: Family Style Dinner

8 pm: The Laughing Couple– Interactive Storytelling  
  • Storyteller Carolyn Black and local artist Rick Hunt will collaborate to share stories of New England’s indigenous people. Participants will be invited to help illustrate the stories during the program. 

Sunday, November 29

9 am –2 pm: Turkey Trot with an AMC Naturalist Guide   
  • Join an AMC naturalist for an approximately 4-5 hr. hike to some of the more distant destinations in the Notch and learn some natural and cultural history on the way! 

10 am: Mammals of the Northern Forest

  • How much food does a black bear eat before going to sleep for the winter?  Just how big is a moose?  A beaver doesn't eat fish?  Find the answers to all these questions and more when you join an AMC Naturalist Guide for an interactive talk on some of the more charismatic mammals of the northern forest.
