We combine one to five days of outdoor adventure with kid-friendly mountain hospitality in spectacular settings in New Hampshire and Maine. Our expert staff will lead a full program of activities for parents and kids ages 5-12. We make planning family adventure vacations easy with our all-inclusive program, including daily guided activities, meals, and lodging.
Program participants should be able to complete a moderate 4-hour day hike in a backcountry setting. Parents or grandparents will participate with children in all programs, and are in the best position to judge the abilities of children or grandchildren.
Our program staff will base each day's activities based on group ability. Depending on the size of the group, we may split the group so that there is an option of an easier and a more challenging hike.
Families looking for a little more challenge may want to consider a Family Adventure with a hut overnight option. And families with younger children (2-5) might consider our Wee Wanderers Family Explorations. If you have any questions about which family adventure is right for your interests and abilities, please call us and we'll connect you to program staff.

Vegetarian options are always available. At least one kid-friendly dinner option, such as macaroni and cheese, fajitas, and chicken fingers is available daily. Dinner is usually served buffet-style so kids can eat early. Staff will generally organize an activity for kids during meal time so parents can socialize and take more time to finish dinner. Please notify us during registration of any special dietary requirements. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free diets, and most food allergies, with advance notice.
Family Adventure Camps are led by experienced AMC guides. Our guides come from various backgrounds, including outdoor education and environmental studies. All AMC guides go through rigorous AMC leadership training, and all have a minimum of Wilderness First Aid training.
