Get Out and Vote!

Once again, the opportunity for all Americans to shape the future of our country’s leadership is upon us. Are you prepared to cast an informed vote?

In this election year it seems the stakes have never been higher. National security concerns, a sluggish economy, and the implications of ongoing war certainly weigh heavily on voters’ minds, but the state of the environment and major conservation efforts are also important to consider when headed to the polls. A number of environmental regulations and program funding could be impacted by the results of this election, including the Roadless Area Conservation Rule and the so-called “Clean Air in the Parks” rule, funding for land conservation and land management programs, as well as fuel efficiency incentive programs and exploration of alternative fuel sources.

The AMC, a non-partisan organization, does not specifically endorse any candidates. However, members are strongly encouraged to register to vote, research the issues and consider the stance and past voting records of each of the candidates in order to cast a well-informed vote for a leader who will work to protect our outdoor resources.

The following online resources house useful information about each of the candidates and their stance on important environmental issues...
