Nearly 300 images and three boxes of pizza later, our judges, sequestered away in a conference room, picked the winners of the photo contest. It wasn’t easy.

The quality of the images received this year rivaled years past, making for tough decision-making. We would like to thank Jerry Monkman, Paul Mozell, and Tracy Powell for volunteering their time and expertise.
We would also like to thank all the readers who shared their photography. If your image does not appear here, be sure to keep a keen eye trained on future issues. The many wonderful submissions we received have been added to our image library.
And keep up the shutterbugging! The 2008 contest will feature prizes from leading outdoor gear manufacturers and an improved submission process. We will announce all the contest details this summer in the magazine and on this web site.
