The broad goals of Vision 2010 inspired a wide array of accomplishments. Major pieces of legislation were passed with AMC's help; tens of thousands of youth experienced the outdoors via AMC programs; AMC facilities throughout the Northeast were upgraded; and developments in e-communication and social networks allowed AMC to reach an ever-wider audience. The list goes on. Here are some of AMC's major accomplishments of the past decade.

- AMC and the Maine Appalachian Trail Club begin construction of new 39-mile Grafton Loop Trail, AMC's largest trail building project in 25 years
2002
- 125th Capital Campaign exceeds $25 million goal by raising $33 million
- Dwarf cinquefoil removed from endangered list after 22-year recovery effort

2003
- 171,500-acre Connecticut Headwaters land protection project completed
- Mountain Watch citizen scientist alpine monitoring program launched; 15,000 hikers involved by 2010
- Multi-year renovation of Noble View Outdoor Center begins
- 37,000-acre Katahdin Iron Works property and Little Lyford Lodge and Cabins purchased as part of AMC’s new Maine Woods Initiative

- Highland Center opens as state of the art "green" lodge

- AMC develops computer-based wind power siting model; begins work to encourage adoption of uniform wind power siting guidelines

- Critical Treasures map developed for Mid-Atlantic Highlands
- Conservation Action Network surpasses 20,000 members
- Outdoors.org surpasses 1 million visitors annually
- Cardigan Lodge reopened after $1 million renovation

- AMC receives over $1 million in grants from the National Oceanographic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for research on climate change impacts on Northeastern mountains
- Centennial edition of White Mountain Guide published
- White Mountain Guide Online launched
- Grafton Loop Trail completed
- AMC opens office in Greenville, Maine, in support of Maine Woods Initiative
