Dozens of young men and women hike into the White Mountains every summer, reporting for work at AMC's eight huts. For three months these hut staff members cook, clean, carry supplies, and educate guests and visitors about the White Mountains. They're continuing an AMC hut croo tradition that is more than a century old. In 2009, the Galehead Hut croo consisted of Hutmaster Katherine Siner, Assistant Hutmaster Nick Anderson, Naturalist Elizabeth Waste, Chelsea Alsofrom, and Luke Teschner. Read about their summer in "Welcome to Galehead."
