Fly Fishing in Maine

Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness, with its many sporting camps, has long been a popular fishing destination. The state’s Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife lists more than 300 bodies of water in Piscataquis County featuring brook and lake trout, bass, land-locked salmon, splake, and other species—a variety that provides a challenge for even the veteran angler.

A range of fishing options is easily reached from AMC’s Maine Wilderness Lodges, including Little Lyford Pond and Indian Pond, both near Little Lyford Pond Lodge and Cabins, and Second, Third, and Fourth Roach ponds near Medawisla Wilderness Lodge and Cabins.

Find out more about Fly Fishing Opportunities in the Maine Woods, and our upcoming September Fly Fishing Workshop at Medawisla Wilderness Lodge.
