On September 24, AMC completed the purchase of the 29,500-acre Roach Ponds Tract in Maine’s 100-Mile Wilderness. The tract, which connects to AMC’s Katahdin Iron Works property, extends the organization’s recreation and conservation efforts in Maine—and provides a critical link between conserved lands that now cover 2 million acres in the region. The Roach Ponds Tract contains nine large ponds, several mountain peaks, and countless natural highlights.
