What’s in the area:

  • Array of wildlife including coyote, bobcat, porcupine, fisher deer, beaver, and pileated woodpecker
  • Views of Tully Mountain, Mount Grace, and other rolling hills
  • Spirit Falls, a series of scenic cascades over moss-covered ledges of granite, is a 10- or 15-minute walk from the lookout area atop Jacobs Hill. The climb is relatively difficult and not recommended during the winter months
  • Little Pond, which is becoming a bog, surrounded by black spruce, sheep laurel, leatherleaf, and tamarack.

Getting There

  • To get to the center of Royalston, exit Route 2 onto Route 202 north. Follow for 2.4 miles and turn left onto Route 68 north and travel 8.6 miles to the town’s center. From the center of Royalston, take Route 68 north 0.5 mile. Entrance and parking are on the left.
