Getting there:

• Take Exit 44 to NY 82 north. Watch carefully for the firehouse on the left, and turn left here into Lake Road, where you will see Stissing Mountain and its fire tower ahead. At 1.6 miles, pass the Thompson Pond Preserve trailheads. At 2.2 miles, park at the Stissing Mountain trailhead, on the right.
