Urge Congress to pass the Great American Outdoors Act
The Great American Outdoors Act advances two critical priorities from previously introduced bills – in addition to fully and permanently funding the Land and Water Conservation Fund, it also addresses the maintenance backlog in America’s national parks and other public lands. Earlier this month, the Senate passed the Great American Outdoors Act. The bill is now waiting for a vote in the House of Representatives to send it to the President’s desk.

Now is our chance to finally secure full, dedicated, and permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
The Land and Water Conservation Fund is a visionary and bipartisan federal funding program that protects our nation’s most special places. From Sterling Forest in the New York Highlands, to White Cap Mountain in Maine, to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, LWCF has funded the protection of some of our most iconic landscapes and trails in the Northeast. Last year we celebrated the permanent re-authorization of the Land and Water Conservation Fund, but without dedicated and permanent funding Congress’ work is not complete.
