Full and Dedicated Funding for LWCF Becomes Law
Now is the time to celebrate the historic enactment of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) to permanently and fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) and help fund the backlog of maintenance projects on federal public lands, including national parks and national forests.
Members of Congress from the Northeast were especially pivotal in securing this victory. Thank them for their leadership by sending a letter today.
The Great American Outdoors Act passed the U.S. Senate on June 17th with a bi-partisan vote of 73-25, and the bill cleared the U.S. House of Representatives on July 22nd by a bipartisan majority of 310-107. It was signed by the President on August 4, 2020.
