Fulfill the Promise of the Land and Water Conservation Fund

On September 30th, Congress allowed the Land and Water Conservation Fund to expire, leaving critically important conservation projects in limbo. In addition, Congress has proposed to divert Outer Continental Shelf revenues away from the Land and Water Conservation Fund, breaking its promise made a over a half century ago. Since LWCF expired, America is losing $2.5M each day that would have gone toward protecting land and water forever.

Write to your members of Congress and ask them to support H.R. 6759 and S.569 to permanently reauthorize and fully fund the Land and Water Conservation before the year ends.

The Land and Water Conservation Fund is a visionary and bipartisan federal funding program for protecting our nation’s most special places. From Sterling Forest in the New York Highlands, to White Cap Mountain in Maine, to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, the Land and Water Conservation Fund has funded the protection of some of our most iconic landscapes and trails in the Northeast.

Congress needs to uphold its commitment to the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Urge your Senators and Representatives to act today!
