Speak up today for Clean Air
The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to weaken how costs and benefits are calculated and considered in its rulemaking process under the Clean Air Act. The change would have dangerous implications for public health by tipping the scales away from public health and environmental protections. The many benefits of regulating harmful emissions are already undervalued, and the proposed rule would place Americans at further risk for the harmful health effects of air pollution.
Urge EPA to maintain the existing, longstanding practice of calculating the full benefits and costs of federal rules and tell them to abandon any efforts to change the cost-benefit analysis practices at EPA in a way that would result in inaccurate calculations of the benefits and costs to health. Comments opposing the proposed rule are needed by August 3rd.
