Tell EPA to Keep Methane Protections
Methane warms the planet about 86 times as much as carbon dioxide, making it a potent greenhouse gas. A recent proposal from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) would eliminate requirements that oil and gas companies stop leaking methane into the atmosphere at new wells and pipelines. Updated in 2012 and 2016, EPA’s current rule requires oil and gas companies to find leaks and capture methane so it doesn’t pollute our air and contribute to climate change.
