Success in funding Land for Maine’s Future!
Great news! The popular and successful Land for Maine’s Future (LMF) program has been funded. Lawmakers recognized the importance of access to the outdoors by appropriating $40 million for land conservation to be spent over the next four years. This funding will help ensure that our most beautiful and important places will remain open to all of us, forever.
Access to the outdoors is important to Maine’s public health and our economy. Land conservation is climate action, especially when forests are protected. LMF supports working farms and waterfronts, fostering a local food economy and new jobs. Together, these conservation efforts ensure that the Maine we love will be here for future generations.
Funding for LMF was included in a negotiated budget that drew strong bipartisan support. Let’s thank the leaders who heard their constituents’ voices and recognized LMF’s importance to our Maine way of life.
