BOSTON, Mass.— The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) has named Rebecca “Bec” Rollins of Boston as its new Chief Marketing Officer.
Rollins oversees Communications, Marketing, Membership, Magazine, Books, and the AMC website.
She serves on AMC’s staff leadership team and is a liaison to the organization’s Board of Directors and Board of Advisors. She works from AMC’s headquarters at 10 City Square in Charlestown.
“Bec is a skilled communicator with an impressive history of multimedia accomplishments,” said AMC President and CEO John D. Judge. “We’re very fortunate to have her on our team to lead our organizational communications efforts and strengthen the AMC brand.”
Prior to her work at AMC, Rollins served for seven years as Chief Communications Officer for the global health and social justice organization, Partners In Health, where she led the organization’s messaging efforts in the United States and 10 other countries.
She also has a background in broadcast journalism and worked in media management for a decade at Harvard University.
Rollins holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and studio art from Smith College in Northampton, Mass., and attended Maine Media Workshops in Rockport, Maine. Early in her career, she was awarded WCVB’s prestigious Leo Beranek Fellowship for television news reporting.
