Like much of AMC, the Potomac Chapter is run by volunteers who share a love of the outdoors and strive to preserve it for generations to come. An Executive Committee is elected by chapter members at the annual chapter meeting – usually held in November. The committee us supported by Committee Chairs and Members At-Large who organize events and help with the day-to-day running of the Chapter. In addition, the Chapter has a growing number of trip leaders who have completed the necessary training requirements to be certified to lead AMC trips.
The chapter’s 3,000+ members are scattered throughout Maryland, Virginia and the District of Colombia. While the majority of our events are currently held in the D.C. area, we are working to expand our reach to other areas of our territory. Wherever you are located, we encourage you to get involved and help us make a difference in our region.
