AMC Lodging in 2023: What’s Changed, What Hasn’t

The last two years prompted some changes to the AMC lodging experience. Throughout this difficult time, we’re proud of the way we’ve adapted to circumstances, while still maintaining what makes a trip to an AMC location so special: Spending time in the outdoors with friends, both old and new.

As we look forward to the 2023 season, we’re excited for the return of pre-pandemic amenities (Blankets! Saunas!) while still doing all we can to keep our facilities a safe place for everyone.

Here’s what’s changed since last year:

  • Blankets and Pillows: In 2020 and 2021, guests staying at AMC Huts and other locations needed to bring their own bedding for their stay. That will no longer be the case in 2023! Guests can expect a cozy blanket and soft pillow ready for them after a long day on the trail.
  • Saunas: Locations with wood-heated saunas, including AMC’s Maine Woods properties, will be open again! Warming up after your next cross-country ski adventure just got a whole lot easier.

Here’s what’s likely to stay the same, to ensure the safety of our community:

  • Masking: AMC recommends, but does not require, guests wear a mask in High Level Community COVID-19 areas, per CDC recommendations.. Masks are welcome at all AMC facilities.
  • COVID safety: If a guest experiences symptoms of COVID-19 during their visit, we ask that the guest notifies AMC staff immediately and arrange to leave AMC property.

We can’t wait to see you this season and to share with you the special places we have the privilege of protecting!

AMC continues to monitor the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to welcome guests and volunteers into AMC spaces and activities.
