Meet Our Team

Why should you work at the Appalachian Mountain Club? Let a few of our colleagues share their perspectives. We hope you'll come and join us!

Guide Bethany Taylor in the Presidential Range

Bethany Taylor

Job position: Huts Manager

Favorite part of your day: Getting to make the mountain magic happen. And mentoring hut croo. And talking with guests. And helicopters. And working with a strong community.

Why did you join AMC? I’ve always been interested in the little communities that form in wild places, and how that offers an open-ended template for how to be in the world outside of the 9-5 career-driven mainstream.

Alexander DeLucia

Job position: Director of Trails

Favorite part of your day: Working with the Trails department on the amazing projects we execute.

Why did you join AMC? I found AMC's Trails Department over 20 years ago. It instantly felt like home. Every year has been different, with new challenges and new opportunities. And every year gets better and better!

Will Oliver

Job position: Assistant Manager, Pinkham Notch

Favorite part of your day: Gathering with everyone at croo dinner and hearing about everyone’s day.

Why did you join AMC? Visiting AMC locations was a huge part of my childhood experience of the outdoors. I’m glad to return as a management professional to align my skillset with my values and passions!

The Places We Go

AMC is a resume builder! Employees who have joined us in seasonal positions have gone on to hold senior positions in environmental organizations—and at AMC. Here are a few of their stories:

Amie Fleming: former hut croo, now Senior Director of Natural Climate Solutions at Quantified Ventures

“Talking about the huts in interviews is a perfect way to showcase one’s maturity, teamwork, decision making, empathy, and ambition.”

Wynn Tucker: former hut croo, now working in D.C. for a green finance organization

“Working as a naturalist enables you to talk about researching, development, and delivering programs on a variety of science topics to a public audience.”

Claudine Aoun: former White Mountain Trail Crew Member, currently Crew Lead on the White Mountain Professional Trail Crew

“The truth is that it’s never too late to work as a seasonal, it’s a continuous opportunity waiting for you. It can become a career!”

Jesse Jameson: former seasonal front desk employee at Highland, now Associate Philanthropy Officer at AMC.

“My time working at the Front Desk taught me how important it is to make someone feel welcome and comfortable when they arrive in a new place, especially if that place is connected with outdoor recreation.”
