The Barnard Forest

The Appalachian Mountain Club is partnering with The Conservation Fund to purchase nearly 29,000 acres of forestland in Piscataquis County, Maine. A gift to AMC today will help us bring the Barnard Forest under our permanent protection and care.

Trail Building & Maintenance

From Pennsylvania to the Canadian border, we work to develop, manage, and protect long-distance, close-to-home, and regional trails, which provide numerous outdoor recreational opportunities, as well as an alternative to car travel.

AMC operates under several special permits and leases, including in the White Mountain National Forest, New York Palisades Interstate Park Commission, and New Hampshire State Parks.
