AMC Chapters

Chapters

Boston Chapter

Of the AMC’s 11 chapters, Boston is the largest with over 20,000 members. The chapter is run by volunteers who organize thousands of outings covering a wide range of activities throughout New England. View Boston Chapter website.

Connecticut Chapter

At AMC, connecting you to the freedom and exhilaration of the outdoors is our calling. We invite and help people of all ages and abilities to explore and develop a deep appreciation of the natural world.  View Connecticut Chapter website.

Delaware Valley Chapter

At AMC, connecting you to the freedom and exhilaration of the outdoors is our calling. We invite and help people of all ages and abilities to explore and develop a deep appreciation of the natural world. View Delaware Valley Chapter website.

Maine Chapter

The Maine Chapter of the AMC was founded in 1956 as the Portland chapter. Today, the Chapter has more than 5,300 members and is active throughout the state of Maine. It advocates strong conservation efforts within Maine and offers its members a full range of programs and activities. View Maine Chapter website.

 

Narragansett Chapter

At AMC, connecting you to the freedom and exhilaration of the outdoors is our calling. We invite and help people of all ages and abilities to explore and develop a deep appreciation of the natural world. View Narragansett Chapter website.

New Hampshire Chapter

The New Hampshire Chapter began as the Merrimack Valley Chapter. We’re the second-largest AMC chapter with over 14,000 members. Our well-trained and dedicated volunteer  chapter trip leaders offer hundreds of trips and activities each year. View New Hampshire Chapter website.

New York/North Jersey

Our region comprises New York City, Southeastern New York, including Long Island, and Northeastern New Jersey. The Chapter has more than 150 activity leaders who run over 1,000 outdoor recreation activities and programs each year. Whatever your outdoor interests are, we have something for you! Potomac Chapter

We are the southernmost of 11 regional AMC chapters supporting outdoor and conservation activities in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and beyond. View Potomac Chapter website.

Southeastern Massachusetts Chapter

Of the AMC's twelve chapters, SEM is one of the smaller chapters with about 4,000 members. The chapter organizes hundreds of outings each year covering a wide range of activities throughout New England. View Southeastern Massachusetts Chapter website.

Western Massachusetts Chapter

The AMC Western Massachusetts Chapter carries out the mission of the Appalachian Mountain Club in the Berkshire, Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin Counties of Massachusetts. View Western Massachusetts Chapter website.

The Appalachian Mountain Club is a nonprofit, tax-exempt charitable organization (tax identification number 04-6001677) under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. AMC operates under several special permits and leases, including in the White Mountain National Forest, New York Palisades Interstate Park Commission, and New Hampshire State Parks.
