Your Memories, Our Shared Legacy

The Appalachian Mountain Club has been inspiring people to connect with the outdoors and each other since 1876. In celebration of AMC’s 150th anniversary, we’re on a mission to capture our community’s favorite outdoor moments—and we want to hear YOURS! Your memories will become part of AMC’s official Archives, and you might even see your submission up in the lights on AMC's blog, social media, or website.

What We're Looking For

Photos: Send us photos of you and/or your loved ones enjoying the outdoors. Include a description of the location, the names of any people (please make sure you have their consent), the date, and the first and last name of the photographer. Most importantly, tell us what this memory means to you and why you chose to share it.

Videos: Share your outdoor highlight with a video! Nothing fancy needed—a cell phone or computer camera works great. Record horizontally, in a well-lit location without a lot of background noise.

Documents: Prefer to write it down? Type up your story, save it in an accepted format (.doc, .docx, or .pdf), and upload it below. If you have accompanying photos, please include them, too!

Here are some ideas to get you started:
  • Show your AMC pride with a photo or video of you sporting your 150 gear!
  • Drop us into the action on the AMC 150 Relay route.
  • Who’s your go-to trail buddy? Share a photo or a video of you on an adventure and let us know how exploring the outdoors together has impacted your relationship.
  • Give us a sneak peek at your favorite place in nature. Why do you love it?
  • What does AMC mean to you? Show us a video or tell us a story.
  • For more inspiration, take a look at the latest collection of AMC stories on our blog!
